The Design Director, Graphics Pattern & Print reports to the Vice-President of Design, working in close collaboration with her, as well as with the Buying, Marketing, and Manufacturing teams.
This role is responsible for leading, inspiring, and supporting a team of graphic designers in the creation of high-value prints and patterns aligned with our exclusive brands’ identities and our customers’ expectations. The Director ensures the delivery of creative projects that combine quality, commercial insight, and aesthetic appeal, all within a spirit of interdisciplinary collaboration.
Their contribution plays a key role in enhancing our exclusive offer through distinctive and meaningful prints that help shape an inspiring customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop distinctive and relevant graphic concepts that reflect the visual universe of our brands and ensure their consistent application across apparel, accessories, and packaging.
- Mobilize, guide, and manage the graphic design team through a collaborative approach that promotes innovation, attention to detail, and respect for timelines.
- Stay ahead of trends in prints, patterns, typography, and techniques, and translate these inspirations into strong, customer-relevant proposals.
- Work in close collaboration with the Buying, Design, and Manufacturing teams to ensure optimal and technically feasible graphic applications. Interpret sales results and conduct market analysis to inform creative direction and optimize the commercial performance of developed prints.
- Build and maintain a well-organized library of patterns and illustrations to support strategic reuse and creative process efficiency.
- Contribute to the evolution of internal practices by integrating emerging tech tools, sustainable practices, and efficient management of the graphic production cycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design in Management, Graphic Design, Product Design, or any other relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in graphic design, including at least 3 years in a leadership and team management role.
- Excellent command of Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in both English and French to interact effectively with all stakeholders.
- Interest in and knowledge of (an asset) emerging generative 3D and AI tools, and how they can be leveraged to boost productivity within the department.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
