What You’ll Do
As our Human Resources Director, you will formulate the heartbeat of our store, fostering a culture that embodies Simons’ values and our commitment to excellence in a dynamic atmosphere. You will proudly represent Simons by leading Area Directors, Department managers, and employees to deliver exceptional customer service, embodying the Simons vision. Most importantly, you will foster an inviting atmosphere where customers love to shop, and employees love to work!
- Lead & Inspire: Build a high-performance team by navigating the management team’s development to enhance their leadership skills, drive customer engagement, and foster an innovative sense of purpose.
- Drive the Simons Experience: Set the bar high and show your team what success looks like in the Toronto market, ensuring that all teams master the art of delivering the exceptional Simons service experience to every visitor.
- Identify & Empower talent: Lead the full recruitment cycle to engage with new, diverse, and skilled talent. You'll execute a comprehensive training experience that empowers employees to thrive. You will guide evaluations to help employee reach their full potential.
- Maximize Employee Support: Service all employees in providing support via tools and resources, including health benefits, wellness programs, and savings plans. You will be the go-to person for employee guidance, while also addressing and resolving any employee issues and conflicts that may arise.
- Embody Inclusion & Safety: By championing and fostering an uplifting environment, you will balance the duty of valuing our employees’ diversity, while promoting adherence to policies and regulations, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and compliant workplace.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a dedicated Human Resource Director who recognizes the crucial role people play in an everchanging work environment. With your creativity, passion for service, and commitment to empowering our team, you’ll make a lasting impact in fostering an environment where everyone can thrive and contribute to our shared success!
- HR Leadership Experience in Retail: You’ve worked in the HR field for 7-10 years and have experience managing both people and processes effectively, particularly in fast-paced, high-traffic retail environments. A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required for this role; bilingualism is an asset.
- Agile Leadership: With your aptitude for exceptional planning and adaptability, you excel at managing large cross-functional teams in a busy setting. You combine a strong business orientation with a focus on empathy and human connection. Your autonomous and flexible style allows you to navigate challenges effectively while keeping team morale high.
- Peoples Specialist: You excel at connecting with people and fostering a positive workplace culture. Your understanding of the multi-cultural city of Toronto enhances these efforts and assists you in skillfully navigating both employee and client relationships. You celebrate your employees with meaningful and creative recognition events and celebrations.
- Customer Service Passion: You know how to make Toronto’s diverse customers feel like part of the Simons family and ensure you create a strong sense of vision to inspire your teams to do the same!
- Strong Business and Financial Acumen: You understand the importance of analyzing performance reports, tracking metrics and using data to innovatively enhance processes and procedures. You pay attention to the fine details while implementing effective solutions to meet business targets.
- Technologically Advanced: You embrace new technology with excitement and adapt effortlessly, highlighting your capability to autonomously oversee HR systems and platforms. Your comfort level allows you to navigate complex tools and systems seamlessly.

Please Note the Following Expectations
- Customer Service Focus: Experienced and enthusiastic about engaging with customers on the sales floor to provide outstanding service.
- Varying Hours: Open to a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate operational demands.
- Training: Available to commute to Square one Simons location for training prior to store opening.
